Dare to Sell Different This Ramadhan
Here are 5 snack ideas for a truly different Ramadhan bazaar experience.
The fare at Ramadhan bazaars can sometimes be a little formulaic. When multiple stalls start selling the same food and drinks, it’s hard to stand out from the crowd. Here are a few unique food ideas that may encourage long queues at your stall this Ramadhan.
Salted egg snacks
You almost can’t go wrong with salted egg. Always highly sought after, it’s a combination compliments virtually any dish. Fried squid, curry puffs, crispy chicken and sweet potato chips, for example, are prime candidates for the salted egg treatment.
Buffalo wings with assorted dipping sauces
Take it up a notch from the regular ayam percik and chicken kebabs when you serve up crispy buffalo wings. Amaze the crowd with a variety of dipping sauces that offer different sensations, from the staple hot sauces to unique flavours such as garlic parmesan, jalapeno and sambal.
Fruity skewers
How about a dessert-inspired twist on satay featuring a delicious combination of fruity skewers? The refreshing taste and obvious nutritional benefits of fruits make it an excellent Iftar appetiser. Drizzle on some chocolate sauce if your customer’s after an extra bit of indulgence.
Malaysian-inspired pasta
Bring Italy and Malaysia together with a fusion pasta dish. Imagine the buzz you could create with dishes like spaghetti ayam masak merah, rendang bolognaise, and pasta lemak cili api.
Cucur durian
Nothing makes your stall stand out from the crowd like the king of fruits. By infusing your regular cucur with durian, you’d be able to draw durian lovers to your stall with a signature smell and a much-loved flavour. Now that’s one way to make sure you’re more than a one-hit wonder.
